So, there's a blog out there with a Chunkster Reading Challenge: http://chunksterchallenge.blogspot.com/2011/12/chunkster-challenge-2012-sign-ups.html
My favorite books are those you enjoy so much that when they're 900 pages long, you wish you had another 900 pages! There are several levels you can join for the challenge. Originally I chose "The Plump Primer," which is merely six books of 450 pages or more between 1/1/12 and 12/31/12. But then it turns out that I've already read 5/6 of that category. So, I'm going on to the Mor-Bookly-Obese:"This is for the truly out of control chunkster. For this level of challenge you must commit to EIGHT or more Chunksters of which three tomes MUST be 750 pages or more. You know you want to.....go on and give in to your cravings."
So far in 2012, I've read:
1. Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese, 560 pages
2. Cryptonomicon by Neal Stephenson, 928 pages
3. The Book of Lost Things by John Connolly, 528 pages
4. Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell, 528 pages
5. 11/22/63 by Stephen King, 849 pages
6. Outlander by Diana Gabaldon, 896 pages
7. The Years of Rice and Salt, Kim Stanley Robinson, 763 pages
8. Anna Karenina, Leo Tolstoy, 807 pages
Hmmmm.
Loved the series by Diana Gabaldon!!
